Players new to Quartz Hill AYSO or those players who did not play during the 2008 fall season in Quartz Hill AYSO will be required to take a skills test on the date that they are registered.  This skills test is mandatory to complete the registration process!

Players will be accepted on a space available basis and availability depends on field space and number of volunteer coaches.

Children from ages 4 ½ through 18 are eligible to play AYSO soccer. The age is as of July 31st of the registration year. So, if your child is 4 on or before January 31 of the season year, or is no older than 18 on July 31 of the season year then he/she will be able to play during this season. Proof of Age is required for first time players in the Quartz Hill Region.  A VALID BIRTH CERTIFICATE MUST BE BROUGHT WITH YOU TO REGISTRATION.  IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THIS WITH YOU THEN YOUR CHILD CANNOT BE REGISTERED!  THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.

Divisions

The normal playing season starts the first weekend after Labor Day and continues until Thanksgiving or the weekend before. The practice starts about mid August. For the competitive ages (8-13) or divisions U10 - U14 the season can last through the first weekend in March. The top season team in each division and an all star team in each division goes on to play at the Area level (normally held in Lancaster in January). Winners at the Area level go on to play at the Section level in Bakersfield at the end of February or first weekend in March.

The older divisions (U16 – U19) start their season mid August so they can be complete with all play-offs prior to start of High School play.  Plan your vacations accordingly!  The regular season play for these divisions are at the Area level so the teams may be traveling as far as Victorville. These teams also play on Sundays and during the week.

Everyone plays, so it’s first come, first served. The only limitation is field space and recruiting sufficient number of coaches. We may have the players and field space, but without coaches, we can’t form the teams. We have had large waiting lists in the past few years, so sign up early. We start the registrations in March and continue through May.  Registration after June is by appointment through the Registrar and, of course, on a space available basis. For more information please call the Region number or the Registrar.

The Quartz Hill Region will be more convenient if you live on the "West" side of Lancaster and Palmdale. The Lancaster Region (they play at the Lancaster Soccer Complex) will be more convenient if you live on the "East" side of Lancaster. The Palmdale Region (they play at the Pelona Vista Soccer Complex) will be more convenient if you live on the "East" side of Palmdale. There are links to these regions from our Home Page. But remember, there are no boundaries in AYSO, so you can play wherever you wish!

A tri region (Lancaster, Palmdale and Quartz Hill) VIP program (for physically handicapped) is available. Please sign up through Quartz Hill.  Contact the VIP Coordinator, Patty Meikle at QHMom4u@aol.com.
